Promova Donates $40,000 in ASL Access to 1,000 U.S. Service Workers

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the ADA, Promova empowers 10 companies to build more inclusive workplaces through sign language.
[New York, NY] — August 4, 2025 — In honor of the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), global language learning platform Promova is awarding $40,000 worth of ASL learning grants to support inclusive communication in everyday services.
Through this initiative, 10 U.S. companies will receive 100 free seats each on Promova — including full access to its beginner-friendly American Sign Language (ASL) course. The grant aims to empower service professionals — from healthcare staff to hotel receptionists — to better connect with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.

“ASL isn’t just a skill - it’s a sign of respect,” said Daryna Mednikova, Chief Product Officer at Promova. “Learning even a few signs can completely shift the tone of the communication and make it inclusive, especially in everyday interactions, and this small effort can go a long way. That’s why we designed this course and made it feel simple, human and fun - not overwhelming or performative.”
Promova’s ASL course is a gentle, practical introduction to one of America’s most expressive languages. Developed with Deaf educators and cultural consultants, it focuses on real-life workplace communication, not just general vocabulary. Lessons are 5–10 minutes long, easy to fit into daily routines or breaks, and are free from pressure, points, or performance metrics.
In addition to ASL, each grant provides full access to Promova’s platform, including courses in 11 other languages, such as English, Spanish, French, and German. This makes it a comprehensive language learning benefit for teams working in diverse, multilingual environments.
This is not the first time Promova supports the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Last year, as part of the general ASL course, Promova launched special lessons with emergency signs, free for everyone, such as asking for help, warning about fire, and expressing the need to call the police or a doctor to help communicate with deaf individuals when their lives are in danger.
